Before writing your C.V., take the time to ask yourself a few key questions about your personal, academic and professional objectives.

What are your professional objectives?

· Try to define your professional objectives by identifying the type of responsibilities you would like to assume for your next job.

· While writing your C.V., insist on the aspects of your experience that you would like to take further.

What kind of work experience have you acquired?

· Start with your most recent experiences and leave the older ones for the end of the list.

· On the left side of the page, indicate the time period you spent at each position (precise dates),
· Indicate the name of the company and the title of your position,
· Indicate your principal tasks or responsibilities.

What professional abilities do you have?

· Enumerate the capabilities you acquired during your past experiences.

· For example: A strong team spirit, proven responsibility, good communication skills, etc.

What personal qualities do you have?

· Define your personality in a few words

· For example: Always on time, reliable, autonomous, persevering, etc.

What kind of education did you receive?

· Give out the list of all your diplomas including the name of the institutions and schools

: Include all levels of schooling: secondary, high school, university, professional .

· Don’t forget to mention the year of completion of the diploma and any specialization you may have accomplished.

What languages can you work with?

· Do you master more than one language?

· Indicate your level for each language: Spoken and Written.

What computer skills do you have?

· Nowadays, the use of computers and basic professional software is a huge asset.

· It gets even more important when it comes to positions that require specific computer skills: in the IT, electronic or multimedia fields for example.

What realizations did you accomplish?

· For each work experience, indicate your most important realizations while insisting on the positive effects they had on the company.

· For example: Implementation of a stock management system that diminished losses down to XX%.

Do not leave blank periods between two jobs without explaining your activity during that period. For example, if you graduated in 1999 and started working in 2002, explain what you did during that time, even if your activity was not professional (like traveling around the world!).
